The Amazonas Theatre in Renaissance Revival style is the most famous building in Manaus and a national monument. It was built during the period of the Amazon rubber boom in Brazil and completed in 1896. It is home to the Amazonas Philharmonic Orchestra and the site of the annual Amazonas Opera Festival.
